If the first month of EWHC is anything like the rest of the season, we're in for a real treat. September saw big matchups, big goals, and, most importantly, big celebrations. With just five teams in action in four games, 21 goals were scored this month with all games ending in regulation. Here is a look back at all of the action from September.

9/22 - Juniors (3), Tardiff (2)

There seems to be a rivalry in the works as both OHA teams played well into this nail-biter that was all tied up until late into the game. Unfortunately for the Tardiff, it was Brianna Marsh (Novia Scotia, Canada) who put away a beautiful one-on-one goal on an excellent find from teammate Rorie Ringor (Manitoba, Canada) for her second goal of the game, lifting the Juniors ahead late in the third period. Also scoring in the game for the Juniors was Briana Fontane (Canada). Receiving the win was goaltender Chloe Beaubien (Colorado, USA) who stopped the puck 23 times allowing 2 goals.

Scoring first in the game was Tardiff's Annaliese Meier (Manitoba, Canada) on a short hander less than halfway through the first while teammate Ingrid Holstad (Canada) netted the game equalizer with less than five minutes left on the clock. The loss goes to Stephanie Martin (USA) who made 29 saves while allowing 3 goals. These teams will meet up again on October 30th at 2 pm with the Juniors claiming home ice.

9/29 -Tardiff (3), HTI (1)

The Tardiff picked up their first victory of the season with every goal in the game coming in the first period for both teams. Scoring almost right out of the gate for the Tardiff was Grace Maccholz (British Columbia, Canada) with her first goal on the season. Also scoring for the first time for the Tardiff were Celedh Lively (Novia Scotia, Canada) and Mary McCafferty (Maryland, USA). The win goes to Denisa Jandova (Czech Republic) who made 11 saves on the night.

The lone goal for HTI was scored by Natalie Mlynkova (Canada) while goaltender Marguax Mameri (France) takes the loss in her debut making 25 saves in the game.

9/ 30 - Stars (5), Juniors (2)

In their second EWHC game of the season, the Stars of HTI were able to bounce back from their loss the night before to prevail against the OHA Juniors. Scoring in every period for the Stars was defenseman and assistant captain Dominka Laskova (Canada) completing the first hat-trick of the season. Also scoring in the game for HTI were forwards Mlynkova for her second goal of the season and Izabella Hays (Canada) both with scores in the second period. The victory goes to Mameri, her first of the season, who made 20 saves in the game.

In the game, it was the Juniors who scored first and last with Taylor Mortenson (Ontario, Canada) dumping the puck in first while Leyla Gagnon (Quebec, Canada) put another goal away at the game's conclusion. Beaubien took the loss with 5 goals against and 29 saves. It won't be until 2018 when these teams hit the ice again with their game scheduled for January 26th for a rematch at the Benson Centre.

9/30 - Express (5),RedStar (0)

With both teams seeing action for the first time in the EWHC, the Express were able to blank the RedStar at home to open the season. Goaltender Lily O'Neil earned the shutout victory seeing 23 shots on goal while forward Elizabeth Furfari (Massachusetts, USA) showed a hat trick performance. Also netting 2 goals for the Express in the victory was Hannah Murphy (Massachusetts, USA).

For the RedStar, goaltender Jiang Han (Harbin, China) made 31 of a possible 34 saves in the loss. These teams will meet again next Friday on October 13th for a late night matchup with  the RedStar dressing in home attire.
