We're over halfway into the season  with just two more months left to go. Don't worry, there is still much more to come with 28 more regular season games and our January showcase on the horizon. Looking back on the month, only four teams from our Gold Division saw action last month but there was plenty of goals to go around, especially with our December showcase, which saw excellent turnout from scouts. That being said let's take a minute to shine the spotlight on our Stars of the Month for December.

Forward - Cassidy McNeeley Walpole Express

Express forward Cassidy McNeeley (Massachusetts, MA) is December's Forward of the month. The Holy Cross commit scored 5 points last month with 2 goals and 3 assists, including 2 multi-point performances. A new addition to the Express squad this season, McNeeley, who was also named captain for the 2017-18 season has been at the helm of the Express' offensive success leading her team with 16 total points on the season. McNeeley's point-scoring and leadership abilities has earned her Forward of the Month.

Defense - Cassi Ronan Walpole Express

This month's defenseman of the month goes to Express defenseman Cassi Ronan (Massachusetts, USA). In December, Ronan showed off her offensive prowess scoring 5 goals. The defenseman notched 2 multi-scoring performances in December, including the contribution of both of the Express' goals in a 4-2 loss against the Northern Cyclones. Ronan's five goals in the month of December helped her moved her to the fourth best on the team in the category and is also the most goals scored by a defenseman in a single month this season, an effort which earns her the title of Defenseman of the Month.

Goaltender - Amber Lee Northern Cyclones

The Goaltender of the Month for December goes to Cyclones net-minder Amber Lee (Maine, USA). Lee posted a record of 2-1-0 in December allowing just 7 goals on 68 shots on net. The goaltender also posted an impressive performance in the December Showcase against Stanstead College holding the offense to just 3 goals in the game, the smallest margin in the tournament. Lee also posted the highest save percentage last month saving .897 percent of shots on net, which helped to solidify her place as Goaltender of the Month.

Rookie - Chloe Shapleigh East Coast Wizards

Our rookie selection for the month of December goes to Wizards defenseman Chloe Shapleigh (Massachusetts, MA). The rookie defenseman scored her first goal and point last month against the Kunlun Redstar. Though this may be her only offensive stat in the record books, Shapleigh was nothing less than stellar defensively for the Wizards. Shapleigh is the first defensive player ever to earn the title of Rookie of the Month. Just a freshman in high school, Shapleigh surely has the potential to become one of the league's best defenseman in the seasons to come.

Honorable Mention- Shana Cote Northern Cyclones

The honorable mention this month goes to Cylcones forward Shana Cote (Colorado, USA). Cote also scored a respectable 5 points in December dishing out 1 goal and 4 assists in 5 appearances. In addition, Cote posted a multi-point performance against the Express in their first December meeting scoring 1 goal and 2 assists in the game. Cote's helping hands have earned her the Honorable Mention.
